Not happy with what you received? You can initiate a return or an exchange by emailing info@oboeduck.com with the problem. The timeframe to initiate a return/exchange request varies per item so please see the tables below for complete information.
Reeds (return or exchange)
We hope you like the reeds you receive, but we understand and know all oboists are different, with different backgrounds, embouchures, and personal preferences on sound. The more information you give us about your playing ability & style, the better we can cater the reed to YOU! You can always give us feedback on the reeds you received via email (or in the customer notes before checkout) and we'll try our best to accommodate them on your next order. Each customer is entitled to ONE return or refund on oboe reeds. For additional returns, we will accept them on a case-by-case basis.
Since Winter 2022, we have upgraded to "INDESTRUCTO- triple walled" cardboard shipping boxes holding weights up to 200lbs & have utilized a tamper-evident coffin sealer to prevent coffins from opening during transit. On the rare occasion your reed arrives damaged in transit, please do not open the tamper-evident wrap on the coffin, take detailed photos of the damage, and send it to us via email.
For both reed returns & exchanges, please pack and pad the original reed safely back in the original cardboard box & coffin it came in and remove all old labels. Tape the coffin shut with tape so it doesn't open during transit. You are responsible for packing all reed(s) securely and safely. If the reed(s) are damaged by careless packing, you will be responsible for the damages. In addition, if the reed(s) are suspected of heavy usage, scraping, or manipulation in any way, it is not eligible for an exchange or a refund and the reed(s) will not be sent back to you.
In most cases, we must have the original reed(s) back in our shop before sending out a refund or a replacement reed.

Emergency reeds are an exception to the above policy and are non-refundable for any reason due to the after-hours time and care that went into making this reed (Yes, even if you hate it and even if it arrives damaged). You are willing to take this risk when you order the reed. As there is no way to control the speed after we ship it out, we also do not give refunds on emergency reeds due to delays in USPS. Thank you for your understanding.
All other physical items (return or exchange)
All other physical items are eligible for return in it's original new, unopened, and unused state. Cane, customized items, used items, sale/clearance, and digital downloads are final sale and not eligible for a return or exchange.

All returns and exchanges are handled in a civil manner in accordance with our policies written here and in our FAQ. We do not tolerate chargebacks, opening cases with Paypal, or threats, and we reserve the right to ban, terminate, or refuse service to anyone who decides to do so.
