Our english horn reeds are made with the highest level of professional quality scrape and cane selection. Like our professional oboe reeds, they have a healthy resistance for a wide range of dynamic and color expression. We focus on intonation, tone quality, response, articulation and stability in all registers. We do not have a "student/intermediate" model for our English horn reeds as most people who play English horn have at least a few years of experience on oboe.
The reeds are sent with tubing on the staple to help keep the reed on the bocal of the instrument. If you prefer your reeds without tubing, these can be easily taken off. They may or may not have wire, depending on if the reed needs one or not. If you have any specific requests, please let us know in the notes and we will do our best to accomodate.
English horn reeds start at $36, respectively, and choosing a custom thread color is an extra $1/reed. Monthly subscriptions are available if you'd like to place an order automatically every month (until cancelled), and you'll save $1 per reed on a subscription!

English Horn Reed
The emergency reed has an expedited soaking/drying process and is guaranteed to be finished within 24 business hours of you placing the order, no matter how long our waitlist is. We do not count weekends and holidays. For example, if you placed your order over the weekend, it will be shipped the following Tuesday at 9:00 AM EST. Please see this page for the full guaranteed timeline.
We highly recommend also upgrading your shipping to Priority Mail USPS for the fastest service. If you wish to use this upgrade, please email info@oboeduck.com immediately after you place your order and we will send an invoice for the difference. Please make sure to pay the invoice by the timeline provided to prevent any delays in shipment.
Emergency reeds are an exception to our return policy and are non-refundable for any reason due to the after-hours time and care that went into making this reed (Yes, even if you hate it and even if it arrives damaged). You are willing to take this risk when you order the reed. As there is no way to control the speed after we ship it out, we also do not give refunds on emergency reeds due to delays in USPS pickup or transit.. Thank you for your understanding.
